Happy B day

Monday the 20th was Daddy's birthday.  So we took the bus in to Oslo.  Then we met Daddy at work and went to dinner.  We went to Big Horn Steak House, it is down at the harbor. On the menu there was a post card with a picture box so you can draw a picture.  We got a card that you put your order on. For dinner Daddy had surf and turf, Mommy had filet mignon, Aidan had buffalo wings and onion rings, and I had the kids steak.  It was really good.  After dinner we went home and had dessert.  We got a big chocolate Santa sled.  All of it was chocolate, but the icing was sugar. I would like to go back again.

There were cups made of chocolate with chocolate inside with something on top.  Then we went home and ate some.  They were REALLY good!

Special Time with Mommy II

Mommy and Me
Wednesday Mommy and I went to Eataly.  It is an Italian restaurant by the harbor.  There is a statute of a man on stilts in the water just outside the restaurant.  There was a sign that said "Dinner is ready when the smoke alarm goes off " by the fire.  There was also a light made out of wine bottles.  It was cool.

Yummy Yummy Macaroon

On Thursday,  Mommy, Daddy, Aidan, and I went for a walk and we saw Pascal.  Pascal is a restaurant and konditori (bakery) in Oslo.  They have cakes and macaroons in their window.  So we went in.  We got one of each flavor of macaroon, like grape, strawberry, lemon, white chocolate, chocolate, pistachio, earl gray, caramel, and coffee.  There are many more flavors, but I forget the rest.  Then we went home and ate some. They were really good.

On Saturday, we went back and had lunch.  Pascal was really crowded.  For lunch I got Goulash, Mommy got baked cod, Daddy and Aidan got fried chicken leg on salad.  Mommy and I got dessert .   Mommy got Chocovanille.  It is a slice of chocolate mousse with a vanilla cream inside.  I got Choc'o'choc.  That is a slice of chocolate mousse with roasted cocoa beans inside.  The desserts we got were as good as the macaroons.  Our waiter said the Queen and King get a cake from Pascal every day.

I will go to Pascal again before I leave Norway.

Going to Crepeaway

Our babysitter, Taylor, told us about Crepeaway when we first met her.  So we went.   It is on 20th and L in Washington D.C, near George Washington University.  Crepeaway loves the colors purple and yellow.  They have cool chairs that dip down low and comfortable benches.

They have sweet and savory crepes.   My favorite savory crepe is the Georgy.   It has roast beef, tomato, lettuce, and cheese.  My mom had the South Beach Crepe.  That crepe has cheese, chicken, turkey,  green peppers, mushrooms, olives, tomatoes, spinach, basil and hot sauce.  Their crepes are big.  The crepes are so big that I have not been able to eat my savory crepe and have enough room for a sweet crepe.   Crepeaway loves Nutella.  They have at least 11 sweet crepes.  Only four sweet crepes don't have Nutella, all the rest do.  They also have strawberries dipped in Nutella for dessert.

Tea time with Mommy

Pre-T
Yesterday Mommy and I went to tea at the Park Hyatt Hotel.  We went to the Tea Cellar, that is the name of the restaurant.  We sat in a glass box, the same glass box Mommy sat in with Aprelle and Elisabeth.  It was like sitting in a fish bowl.
The fish bowl
Mommy and I got a performance tea, it was call Extreme Performance Tea.  We also got a 1999 Pu-Erh Wild Rose Tea.  It was good with sugar and the performance tea was good with honey. There were pastries like Lemon Meringue Tart, Pear Frangipane Tart, Chocolate Pudding Cake, and Vanilla Bean Custard with Apricot Compote.  They were all really good.

Good-bye dinner

YesterdayMommy, Daddy, Aidanand I went for dinner with Aprelle, Rick, Sydney, Jilland Adam.  We went to Rio Grande.  Daddy and I went a little late but Mommy and Aidan went before us.  We got chips, salsa, and guacamole for appetizers.  We had to pass the guacamole around the table.  Sydney liked the guacamole.  For dinner, I got a beef enchilada, so did Sydney and Aidan.  They were really good.   Mommy and Daddy got chicken enchiladas, Aprelle got flautas, Rick got shrimp wrapped  in bacon, and Jill got a cheese and onion enchilada.  I don't know what Adam got.  Sydney liked her dinner too.  For dessert I got a pumpkin flan.  It was really good.  Aprelle got sopapillas for all of us for dessert.  There were no sopapillas left.   Mommy, Aprelle, and Jill had swirls with flamingos.  I got to keep the flamingos.  We all walked home together.

Eating at the Noodle Company.

The Noodle Company has three kinds of noodles Mediterranean, Asian, and American.  My favorite is the American Mac and Cheese.  It is my favorite because it is extra cheesy.  All of the employees have the name of one of the meals on the back of their shirts.  They have a  word that describes the meal (cheesy=Mac and Cheese) on the front.  The service is FAST and the food GOOD.  I will eat there again.  The Noodle Company I can't leave behind, McDonalds and Burger King I can leave behind.
